Hello Everyone!

I am soo excited to have launched the new and revamped Something Me website and with this post, I’d like to talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people that will help you grow as you navigate life’s journey.

We all know that dreaded feeling of being around a person that has a cold since the odds are rather high that you will end up with that same very cold. Using this as an example, have you ever wondered what you “catch” from the people you surround yourself with? Well, to illustrate this I teamed up with a very talented and inspiring calligrapher I know to create the pieces showcased here. The pieces contain some well known quotes that I hope will help show the importance of positive energy in our space.

Whilst you surround yourself with positive people, the aim is not to imitate them. Always stay true to your authentic self. It is true that you may change over time based on the different life experiences you encounter however, I personally believe that your true essence rarely gets altered that much. So, rather draw inspiration from positive people and allow them to challenge your thoughts and your thinking. Who knows, they may just help you reach some of your life goals.

The world we live in constantly surrounds us with negativity and although none of us are perfect human beings, it is important for us to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, and being around inspirational people can help you achieve this.

Regardless of what may be going on in your life, the aim is to always strive for a positive mind, positive energy and a positive life. Filter out the negativity and the people that drain your energy – keep good company with people that genuinely care about you. Conversely, be the type of person you want to be around.

Never forget that inspiration is all around us, we just need to open our eyes to see it.
